Abby Rodman is a bestselling author, psychotherapist, blogger, and speaker renowned for her focus on parenting, marriage, and divorce.
Abby’s early career in TV news proved to be the perfect training ground for her later career as a writer. However, in the 1990s, Abby turned her attention to raising her three sons and becoming a licensed psychotherapist.
She received her postgraduate degrees from both Harvard and Boston College.
After a 5-year stint as a clinical social worker at the Lahey Clinic, Abby fulfilled her dream of opening her private psychotherapy practice which, ten years later, is still at the heart of her professional life.
After her own midlife divorce in 2011, Abby shifted her focus to writing. By 2014, she had published three books on relationships (Without This Ring, From Bitter To Better, and Should You Marry Him?).
Without This Ring — with its focus on helping women through midlife divorce — quickly became an Amazon bestseller.
Remarrying in 2015, Abby expanded her work to include the joys and challenges of second marriages. She also happily became the stepmom to her husband’s two sons.
Abby’s expertise in midlife divorce — and her experience in raising three sons — has landed her on the Today Show twice. Her no-nonsense style and ability to connect with audiences has made her a favorite on the Huffington Post — with her articles being shared by millions. She is a frequent go-to interview for many media outlets and journalists.
Recently, her ebook/course From Bitter To Better: 7 Steps To Recovering From The Divorce You Didn’t Want, was named one of the year’s Most Inspirational Books by Aspire Magazine.
Abby lives outside Boston with her crazy (mostly in a good way) husband (aka The Spaniard), her beloved Chocolate Lab and, depending on the day, any number of their five sons.
Abby is currently designing divorce recovery retreats to be held in 2017. She is also working on her first novel.
Life and Relationship Coaching
You’ve probably heard a lot lately about life coaches. It seems as if suddenly life coaching is all the rage!
Life coaching is different from traditional psychotherapy in that it focuses expressly on your goals. As your life coach, I help you decipher what you want your life to look like going forward. What are your dreams? Where are you stuck? Why do the same roadblocks seem to keep popping up? Why isn’t your career where you’d like it to be or think it should be?
Abby Rodman Relationship Coaching
Relationship Coaching is especially critical for considering a new partnership or for those leaving an existing one. Relationship coaching can also help you recognize what you may not be getting in your existing relationship and also help to identify the ways to improve it.
If you’re single and wanting to partner, why isn’t the person of your dreams showing up in your life? What can you do to make that happen? Why are you partnering with the same “wrong” person time and again?
As your life/relationship coach, I can systematically help you plan your next steps even when those next steps are blurry or seem invisible. I will help you move beyond barriers and attain the vision for your future.
Abby Rodman Author | Life Experiences
Although clinical training is paramount to effective therapy, you can’t underestimate life experience.
Just like you, my life has been a series of events – many wonderful and just as many challenging. Because I’m middle-aged (ahem and amen!), I’ve been around life’s block a few times. I know what it’s like to be a mom, to be married, to have life drag you around by the hair at times. I know.

I know what it’s like to look around your life and not quite recognize how it all ended up this way. I also know that’s okay. It’s more than okay because acknowledging that can be the beginning of a wonderful and complex journey. A journey you deserve to take to get to a better life – your best life.
